CP Giwa Reaffirms Commitment To Peace As Security Studies Delegation Visits Enugu

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Bitrus Giwa, has received participants of the National Institute of Security Studies (NISS) Executive Intelligence Management Course 19 on a study tour of the state.

CP Giwa briefed the delegation on the security situation in Enugu, saying the command was combining enforcement operations with non-kinetic strategies to tackle crime and sustain peace.

He said the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, remained committed to ensuring that Enugu State stays secure.

The delegation said its study focused on ethnic militia and resource competition in Enugu State and its implications for national security.

Team lead, Mr Olalekan Fashanu, said the visit was aimed at exposing participants to practical security realities through engagement with key stakeholders.

Participants drawn from Nigerian and foreign security and law enforcement agencies later engaged the Commissioner in an interactive session on issues relating to the theme of the study tour.
