Salaga–South MP Pays Tribute to Late Braimah

The Member of Parliament for Salaga–South, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has paid tribute to the late Ghanaian politician Salifu Adam Braimah, describing him as a warm and principled leader with a strong sense of cultural identity.

Braimah was a Ghanaian politician and former Member of Parliament in the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic, where he represented the Salaga South Constituency on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party. He served the constituency when it was part of the Northern Region before the creation of the Savannah Region.

Salaga–South, where the tribute was made, is a constituency in Ghana’s Savannah Region, with its administrative capital at Salaga in the northern part of the country.

In her reflection, the MP recalled meeting the late lawmaker in 2012 at a Gonja Land Youth Association gathering, where his traditional smock first caught her attention. She said a light-hearted promise he made at the time became a lasting and fond memory between them.

She noted that his passing represents both a national and personal loss, saying it also marks the end of shared moments and conversations that can no longer be revisited.

The MP described him as a man who wore his heritage with pride, adding that his traditional attire reflected a deep attachment to identity and authenticity in public life.

She extended condolences to his family and urged residents of Salaga–South and the wider Savannah Region to honour his memory by upholding integrity, humility and commitment to public service.
