A political support group in Enugu State has held a large rally to mobilise grassroots backing for Governor Peter Mbah, highlighting his administration’s policies and projects.
The Progressive Movement for Peter Mbah said the event, held in the Enugu North Senatorial Zone, was part of efforts to deepen public engagement and consolidate support ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Supporters from across local government areas gathered at a primary school in Nsukka for the rally.
In remarks delivered on his behalf by the Secretary to the State Government, Chidiebere Onyia, Mr Mbah described the zone as “dear” to him and pledged inclusive governance and continued development.
“This government is a government of partnership. Enugu remains one indivisible entity,” he said, thanking supporters for their turnout.
The group’s zonal coordinator, Chikamso Onyeisi, said the governor’s policies had already made a visible impact, adding that mobilisation efforts would continue at community level.
Local officials also pointed to projects including new schools, healthcare centres and road construction as evidence of the administration’s performance.
At the event, point-of-sale (POS) machines were distributed to coordinators, with organisers saying the initiative was aimed at supporting local economic activity.
Several senior government officials, traditional leaders and local council chairmen attended the rally.
