Benue confirms death of Head of Service

The Benue State Government has confirmed the death of its Head of Service, Dr Agbogbo Ode.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Makurdi, the Secretary to the State Government, Serumun Aber, said the senior civil servant died in the early hours of the day after a brief illness.

“It is with deep sadness that the Benue State Government announces the passing of Dr Agbogbo Ode,” the statement read, describing his death as a significant loss to the state.

Aber noted that the late Head of Service was a distinguished technocrat who earned widespread respect within the public service, adding that his contributions to the state’s civil administration would be long remembered.

She said the government, on behalf of the people of Benue State, extends its condolences to his family, colleagues and associates, as well as the wider civil service.

The statement also offered prayers for the repose of his soul.
