The trio of Senators Victor Umeh, Tony Nwoye and Chief Ebuka Onunkwo have emerged as the senatorial candidates of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general elections in Anambra State.
Senator Victor Umeh secured the party’s ticket for Anambra Central Senatorial District, while Senator Tony Nwoye was nominated for Anambra North. Chief Ebuka Onunkwo emerged as the candidate for Anambra South Senatorial District following the party’s primary elections.
The primaries were conducted across the state under the Option A4 voting system, beginning with accreditation of registered party members before voting commenced later in the day. Party officials said the process recorded strong participation and was largely peaceful, orderly, and transparent.
Speaking after the exercise, the Chairman of the NDC in Anambra State, Ikem Uzoezie, praised party members for what he described as a credible and well-managed primary election.
Speaking on behalf of the winners, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo said the candidates were united by a shared commitment to strengthen representation and deliver improved governance in the 2027 elections.
