Enugu Police assure tight security for Eid-el-Kabir, Children’s Day celebrations

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, Mr. Bitrus Giwa, has congratulated Muslim faithful and children across the state on the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir and Children’s Day celebrations, describing both occasions as significant moments for reflection, unity, and joyful celebration.

In a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe, the Police Commissioner assured residents of adequate security before, during, and after the festivities. 

He said the Command has deployed personnel across strategic locations, with intensified patrols around worship centres, recreational facilities, and other public spaces to guarantee a peaceful and crime-free celebration.

He urged residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and security-conscious throughout the period, while calling for continued cooperation between citizens and security agencies in sustaining peace and order in the state.
