Communicators Urged to Flood Digital Space with Gospel Content

The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Amichi, Ephraim Ikeakor, has called on church communicators to intensify efforts in spreading gospel-centred content across digital platforms to counter the growing volume of ungodly materials on the internet.

Speaking at the 2026 Church of Nigeria Communicators Conference held at the Crowther Retreat Centre, Bishop Ikeakor said communicators have a critical role in advancing the Great Commission through effective use of modern communication tools.

Delivering a presentation on the conference theme, "The Watchman's Trumpet: The Future of the Great Commission," drawn from Ezekiel 33:7, the cleric said the primary responsibility of Christian communicators is to proclaim the gospel with passion, intentionality and professionalism.

He noted that information shapes attitudes and behaviour in the digital age, urging communicators to leverage available platforms to influence society positively with the message of Christ. 

He also stressed the need for continuous training and skills development to keep pace with evolving communication technologies.

The bishop further charged communicators to defend the Christian faith against what he described as harmful doctrines, including liberalism and neo-paganism, while embracing professionalism, timeliness and innovation in digital evangelism.
