DR. GRACE COMMUNITY LEAGUE: Developing Talent, Strengthening Community, Advancing Essikado-Ketan

24 Communities • 3 Months • 500+ Youth Engaged • Professional Scouts Present.

The Dr. Grace Community League transcends the boundaries of a conventional football tournament. It is a structured youth development initiative transforming opportunities for young people across Essikado-Ketan Constituency.

Over a 3-month period, 24 communities competed at the highest community level. From Agri to Essipon, Benyakrom to Nchaban Nkwanta, every young athlete received 90 minutes on a regulated platform to demonstrate skill, discipline, and commitment. Where many previously relied on informal street football, GCL now provides organized fixtures, professional officiating, and competitive exposure before large audiences.

This year’s edition marked a significant advancement: licensed football agents and professional scouts were in full attendance to identify and assess talent. As a result, young players from Essikado-Ketan now have direct access to professional evaluations, trials, and pathways to contracts turning local potential into national and international opportunity.

Beyond competition, the League has delivered measurable social impact. It has reduced youth idleness, instilled discipline, teamwork, and responsibility, and given participants a purpose rooted in community representation and pride.

Football has also become a unifying force. Agri, Fijia, Diabene, Essikado, Ketan, Mpintsin, Kojokrom, and all participating communities now compete under one banner. Rivalries on the pitch have fostered brotherhood off it,a direct reflection of President John Dramani Mahama’s vision for sports as a tool for youth development and community cohesion in Ghana.

GCL2026 stands as evidence that strategic investment in youth is investment in the future of Essikado-Ketan.
