Trobu MP Queries Minister on Measures to Address Ofankor Barrier Flooding

The Member of Parliament for Trobu, Hon. Gloria Owusu, has asked the Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, to provide an update on measures being taken to address the perennial flooding at the Ofankor Barrier in the Greater Accra Region.

Hon. Owusu raised the issue on the floor of Parliament during the minister's appearance to answer questions on housing and water-related infrastructure.

She sought clarification on government interventions to mitigate flooding at the Ofankor Barrier, an area frequently inundated during heavy rainfall, disrupting traffic and affecting residents and commuters.

Flooding at the Ofankor Barrier has remained a recurring challenge in the Greater Accra Region, particularly during the rainy season, prompting repeated calls for sustainable drainage and flood-control measures.
