Police Confirm Rescue of 13 Remaining Kidnap Victims in Benue

 

The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the successful rescue of the remaining 13 passengers who were abducted on Wednesday night along a yet-to-be-disclosed route in the state.

In a brief statement issued in the early hours of Sunday and shared with journalists, the Command announced that the victims were recovered through a coordinated operation involving combined security operatives.

The statement further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police is scheduled to provide a comprehensive briefing on the circumstances surrounding the rescue operation at the Command Headquarters later in the day.

“Good morning, gentlemen of the press. Happy Sunday. Please be informed that there will be a press briefing by the Commissioner of Police on the successful rescue operation of the 13 kidnapped victims at the Command Headquarters today by 10:30 a.m. Thank you for your cooperation,” the message read.

Authorities are expected to release further details, including the operational timeline and the condition of the rescued victims, during the briefing.

The development marks a significant breakthrough in ongoing security efforts in the state, amid continued concerns over incidents of abduction in parts of the country.
