The Anambra State House of Assembly has received a second batch of commissioner-nominees from Governor Chukwuma Soludo for screening and confirmation.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Nkem Udeze, PhD, announced this during plenary on Wednesday in Awka.
The Speaker subsequently referred the nominees to the House Committee on Screening and Electoral Matters for further legislative consideration.
The nominees are Arc. Henry Arinze, nominated as Commissioner for Housing; Mr Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu, nominated as Commissioner for Commerce; and Dr Ezeaka Augustine Uwaeme, nominated as Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA).
According to a statement issued by Franklin Osankwa, Special Assistant on New Media to the Speaker, the Assembly will commence screening in line with its legislative procedures.
The House had earlier screened and confirmed an initial batch of 16 commissioner-nominees forwarded by the governor.
