Doctor Urges Portable to Undergo Brain Scan After Boxing Defeat

A Canada-based Nigerian doctor has advised singer Portable to undergo a brain scan following his recent celebrity boxing match with skit maker Carter Efe in Lagos.

The bout, which drew significant attention online, ended in defeat for Portable and triggered widespread reactions across social media.

Reacting in a video, Arinze Onwumelu recommended a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan to rule out possible internal head injuries. He warned that repeated blows to the head could lead to serious conditions, including subdural hematoma.

Describing the contest as entertainment rather than a professional fight, the doctor stressed the need for immediate medical evaluation, urging those close to the singer to ensure he undergoes proper checks.

He also called on organisers of celebrity boxing events to make protective headgear mandatory to minimise the risk of injury.
