Eid-ul-Adha Teaches Sacrifice, Unity and Peace — Hon. Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah

Hon. Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah has called on Ghanaians to embrace the spiritual and moral lessons of Eid-ul-Adha, saying the celebration carries messages that extend beyond religion and are central to national development and peaceful coexistence.

She said Eid-ul-Adha reinforces “the values of submission and obedience,” adding that “true progress requires humility, commitment to duty, and the willingness to make sacrifices for the greater good.”

Drawing from the story of Prophet Ibrahim and Ishmael, she noted that “faith and trust in God, and confidence in just processes, help people endure difficult times and overcome challenges.”

Hon. Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah also highlighted charity and solidarity as core values of the celebration, saying “the sharing of sacrificial meat promotes compassion, care for neighbours, and a strong sense of social responsibility within communities.”

She added that the season encourages patience and perseverance, urging citizens to remain steadfast in the face of hardship and moral trials.

She concluded that Ghana’s strength lies in its religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence, calling on citizens, particularly the Muslim Ummah, to observe Eid-ul-Adha in an atmosphere of “peace, mutual respect, unity, and harmony.”
