The Executive Chairman of Enugu South Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Dr. Caleb Onyema Ani, FCPA, has felicitated workers across the council and beyond on the occasion of the 2026 International Workers’ Day, commending their role in governance and community development.
In a goodwill message issued through the Enugu South Local Government Media, Dr. Ani described workers as the backbone of public service delivery, noting that their dedication and resilience continue to drive growth, stability, and effective administration at the grassroots level.
The council boss also drew attention to this year’s theme, “Ensuring Safety and Health at Work in a Changing Climate,” stressing the need for stronger occupational health measures in response to emerging environmental and climate-related challenges affecting workplaces.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to policies that promote safe working conditions, environmental sustainability, and improved welfare for workers across all sectors within the local government area.
Dr. Ani urged workers to remain safety-conscious and support initiatives aimed at building a more resilient workforce, adding that safeguarding employee health remains central to productivity and sustainable development.
He concluded by wishing workers a peaceful and rewarding celebration, while calling for sustained collaboration towards a safer and more prosperous Enugu South.
