Yusuf Buhari Secures APC Ticket for House of Representatives Seat

Yusuf Buhari, son of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, has been selected as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

He emerged unopposed after a stakeholders’ meeting held in Katsina on Tuesday, 28 April, where party leaders unanimously adopted him through a consensus arrangement.

The decision was announced by the chairman of the consensus committee for Daura Zone, Alhaji Ahmed Dangiwa, a former Minister of Housing and Urban Development.

Local party officials said the process reflected internal agreement within the constituency, with other aspirants stepping down in favour of consensus candidates.

Mannir Musa, APC Chairman of Mai’adua Local Government Area, urged party members to accept the outcome and work towards unity ahead of the elections.

He also appealed to Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda to support those who did not secure tickets, while encouraging all candidates to focus on constituency development.

Other candidates reportedly endorsed through the same consensus arrangement include Nasir Yahaya for the Daura Senatorial District and Mustapha Musa for the Mai’adua seat in the Katsina State House of Assembly.

Yusuf Buhari thanked party members for their support and pledged to provide effective representation if elected.
