Boakye Agyarko Pledges Improved Welfare for NPP Members, Calls for Party Unity

Aspiring National Chairman of Ghana's ruling party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Boakye Agyarko, has pledged to prioritise the welfare of party members and grassroots officers as part of efforts to rebuild the party and strengthen its structures ahead of future elections.

Agyarko made the pledge during an engagement with the Upper West Regional Council of Elders and Patrons, Regional Executives, Constituency Executives and grassroots leaders, where discussions centred on the future of the party and the role of member welfare in sustaining organisational growth.

He acknowledged the contributions of polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, constituency officers, communicators and grassroots activists, saying many had continued to serve the party with limited recognition and support.

According to him, "a strong and motivated grassroots base remains critical to the success of the party," adding that he would champion sustainable welfare initiatives aimed at recognising commitment, rewarding service and providing meaningful support for party officers at all levels.

Agyarko also stressed the need to restore confidence among party members, promote unity and strengthen internal structures, saying these measures were necessary to reposition the NPP for future electoral success.

He pledged to work closely with Mahamudu Bawumia and other stakeholders to build a united front ahead of the 2028 general election.

Speaking on behalf of the regional leadership, the Upper West Regional Chairman assured Agyarko of the region's support and commended his engagement with party stakeholders.

The meeting was attended by former regional ministers, former municipal and district chief executives, party elders, patrons and constituency executives, some of whom expressed support for Agyarko's bid for the national chairmanship of the party.
