Police, Army Strengthen Security Partnership in Enugu

The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mamman Giwa, has reaffirmed the command’s commitment to strengthening its operational partnership with the Nigerian Army to enhance security across the state.

Giwa made this known on Wednesday while receiving the Commander of the 82 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army, Enugu, Brigadier-General Garba Suru, during a courtesy visit to the State Police Headquarters.

He noted that the renewed collaboration is aimed at fostering a more coordinated and effective security architecture, capable of addressing emerging threats and ensuring the safety of residents.

Earlier, Suru described his visit as a familiarisation tour, explaining that it was intended to build stronger ties with key officers of the command and deepen inter-agency cooperation.

He stressed the importance of sustained synergy and seamless collaboration between the police and the military in maintaining peace and stability in the state.

Senior officers of the Enugu State Police Command were present at the meeting, alongside members of the garrison commander’s entourage.
