Ohanaeze Receives Moghalu-Led Strategic Engagement Report on Ndigbo Development

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has formally received the report of the Igbo Charter of Strategic Engagement for National Development at its National Secretariat in Enugu.

The National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Ezechi Chukwu, confirmed this in a statement issued on Thursday in Enugu.

According to Chukwu, the report was prepared by a committee chaired by former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Kingsley Moghalu.

He said members of the committee present at the submission included Igwe Lawrence Agubuzo, who served as First Deputy Chairman, and Chief Enyinnaya Onokala, who served as Secretary of the committee.

Chukwu stated that the report was formally received by the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Senator Azuta Mbata, alongside members of the Global Executive Council during an official session of the organisation.

Presenting the report, Professor Moghalu expressed appreciation to the President-General and the council for the confidence reposed in the committee, describing the assignment as historic.

He said the exercise reflected the Igbo worldview within the broader Nigerian national context and aimed at strengthening strategic engagement for development.

Moghalu further disclosed that the report includes a special compendium titled “Igbo Builders,” which documents the contributions of 125 late Igbo leaders across various fields whose efforts, he said, contributed significantly to the development of Ndigbo and Nigeria.

He commended other members of the committee for their commitment and dedication throughout the assignment.

In his remarks, as quoted by Chukwu, Senator Azuta Mbata commended the committee for what he described as an outstanding, patriotic and visionary effort.

The Ohanaeze President-General assured that the recommendations contained in the report would receive due attention and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Ndigbo and national development.
