Farm manager docked for allegedly stealing ₦7.6m from employer

A 35-year-old farm manager, Fasasi Ridwan, has been arraigned before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, over alleged theft of ₦7,620,000 belonging to his employer.

The defendant, who resides in the Salaam-Salaam area of Alakia, Ibadan, was arraigned on a one-count charge of stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Foluke Adedosu, told the court that the defendant allegedly diverted proceeds from livestock sales between 2025 and May 26, 2025.

She alleged that the sum of ₦7,620,000, being proceeds from the sale of cows and rams, was fraudulently converted to personal use.

“The defendant, between 2025 and May 26, stole the sum of ₦7,620,000 being proceeds from the sales of cows and rams and fraudulently converted the money to his own use,” the prosecutor told the court.

Adedosu further stated that the livestock belonged to Prime Demland Farm Limited, located at Ogunsina Village along Oyedeji Road in Ibadan.

She said the offence contravenes Section 383 and is punishable under Section 390 (6)(9) of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Defence counsel, Mr. Y.F. Abdulateef, applied for bail on liberal terms for the defendant.

In her ruling, Magistrate Mrs. A.T. Oyediji granted the defendant bail in the sum of ₦1 million with two sureties in like sum.

The court adjourned the matter until July 14, 2026, for hearing.
