ADC confirms payment for Atiku’s 2027 presidential nomination form

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) says former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has completed payment for the party’s presidential nomination form ahead of the 2027 general election.

The party disclosed this in a statement posted on its official X account on Saturday, confirming that payment for the ₦90 million nomination form was made on May 8, 2026.

According to the ADC, Atiku has officially received his payment receipt to contest the presidency on the platform of the party.

Describing the development as “a new chapter in Nigeria’s democratic journey”, the party said the move reflected a growing push for “national renewal, democratic inclusion and people-driven leadership”.

The ADC added that the formal presentation of nomination forms would take place on Monday at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

“Atiku Abubakar, GCON, has officially received his payment receipt to contest under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election,” the statement read.

The party also said it remained committed to providing what it described as a credible alternative platform focused on unity, economic recovery, security and national development.

Atiku, who served as vice president between 1999 and 2007, has contested for Nigeria’s presidency multiple times and was the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election.
