Ghana MP Marks Mother’s Day with Visit to New Mothers in Yeji

The Member of Parliament for Pru East in Ghana’s Bono East Region, Emmanuel Kweku Boam, has marked this year’s Mother’s Day with a visit to new mothers and their newborns at Yeji Mathias Hospital.

The visit was aimed at recognising what he described as the sacrifices mothers make in raising children and contributing to family and national development.

During the visit, Mr Boam donated baby items, toiletries and other essential supplies to women who had recently delivered at the facility. He also interacted with hospital staff and congratulated the mothers on safe deliveries.

Speaking to journalists, the MP praised mothers for their role in society, describing motherhood as a “noble responsibility” that deserves both recognition and sustained support.

He reaffirmed his commitment to improving healthcare delivery in the Pru East constituency, with emphasis on maternal and child health services.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, saying it brought encouragement on Mother’s Day.

The Medical Director of Yeji Mathias Hospital, Dr Narh Evans, welcomed the intervention and called for increased support to health facilities to strengthen maternal and child healthcare in the area.
