Nsukka Connect Shuts Down Enugu with Spectacular 2026 Reunion

Members and associates of Nsukka Connect (NC) turned Enugu into a hub of glamour and elite social engagement last weekend as the Organization hosted its colourful and impactful 2026 Annual Reunion, drawing distinguished personalities from across Nigeria and the diaspora.

The three-day convention, held from May 8 to May 11, transformed Neo Court Hotel and other strategic venues in Enugu into centres of celebration, networking, philanthropy, and cultural camaraderie, reaffirming the group’s growing influence within and beyond the Nsukka cultural bloc.

The reunion commenced on Friday with arrivals and registration at Neo Court Hotel, followed by a glamorous red carpet and media session at the hotel’s poolside, where members engaged in interviews, photo sessions, and networking interactions.

The evening climaxed with a welcome dinner and entertainment hangout featuring live music, karaoke, and convivial interactions that allowed members to relive old memories and strengthen interpersonal bonds.

Speaking at the event, members described the reunion as more than a social gathering, noting that it has evolved into an annual platform for reconnecting successful Nsukka sons and daughters while encouraging collaboration for community development.

The Special Guest of Honour at the convention was the Secretary to Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, whose presence added prestige to the gathering and highlighted the organization’s rising socio-political relevance in Enugu State.

Saturday’s activities began with an early morning fitness exercise at Independence layout, where members, adorned in customized convention regalia, participated in a city-wide exercise and media parade.

The reunion later shifted to the DEC Event Centre for a breakfast convention meeting attended by members, invited guests, and stakeholders from various sectors of society. Discussions during the session focused on strengthening brotherhood, supporting humanitarian causes, and promoting developmental initiatives within Nsukka cultural zones and beyond.

One of the major highlights of the convention was a sightseeing tour of ongoing infrastructural projects and newly developed areas within Enugu metropolis. Members toured strategic locations in air-conditioned luxury buses while interacting and documenting the experiences for diaspora members following the event virtually.

The grand finale of the reunion was the Gala Night and Dinner held at the residence of the Organisation's Founder, High Chief Dr. Charles Mba at Zoo Estate, Enugu. The event featured music, cultural displays, networking, comedy, and celebration of members’ achievements across different professional fields.

Founded over a decade ago, Nsukka Connect has grown into a formidable fraternity bringing together distinguished personalities of Nsukka origin as well as individuals with strong affiliations to the Nsukka cultural bloc through residence, business, friendship, or marriage.

The organization has distinguished itself through philanthropic interventions, humanitarian support, and community development initiatives within and outside Nsukka zone.

Its founder, High Chief Dr. Charles Mba, popularly known as “Egbeigwe N’Orba,” is widely respected for his philanthropic activities and social influence. He is also the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CDV Properties Ltd and founder of the Chief Charly Mba Foundation.

Observers noted that the 2026 reunion further reinforced the Organization’s reputation as one of the most vibrant socio-cultural fraternities in the South-East, owing to its elaborate planning, strong membership base, and commitment to social responsibility.

The event was held under the Chairmanship of Chief Chidi Ogbaji (Onatara Dike Mma N’ Izuogu), whose leadership members credited for sustaining the vision of unity, brotherhood, and collective advancement.
