NDC Fixes ₦60m Presidential Form Fee, Releases 2027 Primary Timetable

The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) has released its timetable and fee structure for the conduct of its 2027 general election primaries, setting presidential aspirants back at ₦60 million for nomination and expression of interest forms.

According to a statement issued by the party’s National Chairman, Moses Cleopas, in Abuja, the sale of nomination forms will run from May 13 to May 18, 2026, followed by screening and submission processes leading up to the primaries. The presidential primary is scheduled for May 29, 2026, in Abuja.

Cleopas explained that governorship aspirants will pay ₦30 million, senatorial candidates ₦8 million, House of Representatives aspirants ₦6 million, while State House of Assembly contestants will pay ₦2.5 million. He added that female aspirants will enjoy a 50 percent discount, while persons with disabilities will receive a 75 percent concession across all categories.

The party also confirmed that its screening exercise will be conducted at both state and national levels depending on the office being contested, while all aspirants will be required to sign a code of conduct undertaking to ensure internal discipline. Cleopas further stated that the NDC will adopt an “open secret ballot” system for its primaries, describing it as part of efforts to enhance transparency, credibility, and internal democracy within the party.

He added that the party remains committed to producing credible candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
