Otti Reiterates Security as Top Priority, Seeks Stronger Collaboration with Security Stakeholders

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has reiterated that security remains the cornerstone of his administration’s development agenda, stressing that no meaningful economic or social progress can be achieved in an atmosphere of insecurity.

Governor Otti made this position known while receiving members of the Seventh Regular Course Alumni Association of the Nigerian Naval College, led by retired Commodore A.O. Bamidele, at the Government House, Umuahia. He maintained that his administration will continue to prioritise security reforms and strengthen existing structures to safeguard lives and property across the state.

The governor expressed appreciation to the delegation for selecting Abia State as the host for their 40th anniversary reunion, describing the choice as an affirmation of growing confidence in the state’s transformation drive. He assured that government would provide necessary support for the successful conduct of the event.

In his remarks, Commodore Bamidele (rtd) commended the Otti administration for what he described as visible improvements in governance, infrastructure, and security management in Abia State. 

He also noted the association’s readiness to support ongoing security initiatives, while acknowledging the appointment of one of its members as Special Adviser on Security to the governor.
