Plateau Airlifts 1,138 Pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for 2026 Hajj

The Plateau State Government says it has successfully airlifted 1,138 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The Executive Secretary of the Plateau Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Daiyabu Dauda, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Jos, the state capital.

He said the final batch of pilgrims departed from the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport in Bauchi aboard a chartered flight to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to him, the board, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and agencies, made adequate arrangements to ensure a smooth and hitch-free operation.

Dauda expressed appreciation to the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, for his support and commitment to the welfare of the pilgrims.

He also urged the pilgrims to be law-abiding and to observe the spiritual significance of the Hajj while in the Holy Land, advising them to conduct themselves in accordance with Islamic teachings.
